Each year Kent Interhall Council plans a variety of events on the Kent State campus, one of those events being Lil’ Sibs Weekend. While the event itself only last three days the time and hard work that goes into planning the event might surprise you.

Kent State University host hundreds of events every year, but one of the campuses most popular is KIC’s Lil’ Sibs Weekend. For one weekend only the campus becomes invade by kids of all ages as they get to spend three days with their college siblings.

Kent Interhall Council (KIC) starts preparation at the start of November and works tirelessly with a planning committee through April. Events are designed and planned throughout the campus for both kids and Kent State students, creating fun filled memories and quality time.

Lil’ Sibs Chairman, Kyle Hovest said, “ A lot of details and preparation go into this event. We’re booking entertainment, budgeting money, getting out advertisements, and creating a fun schedule everyone will enjoy.”

Students on the planning committee range from freshman to seniors with one goal, make this years Lil’ Sibs Weekend better than the last.

“This event just gets better every year. Every year I’ve been involved I’ve seen it grow and seeing the kids who come back year after year, I really do enjoy it,” said Kent State Senior Salvatore DeSanto.

The event will be held April 25-27 and all Kent State students along with their siblings are welcomed to join the event. KIC expects close to 2,500 student and siblings so make sure to register soon. Registration forms can be found at www.kic.kent.edu
